Square Rays – A Centre Start Lace Block – July Block

Square Rays - 22 grs of Track in Huckleberry.
Square Rays – 22 grs of Track in Huckleberry.

Lets try something a little different – a square that starts in the center and works out – a whole blanket of these would have a very vintage feel!  Here is a link to Tin Can Knits for a Pinhole center start.  An alternative start would be to cast-on the eight sts and then gather them up to close the hole at the end of the knitting.

This pattern is written and charted.

Gauge: over lace pattern, 25 sts in 4 inches.

Size: 8 inches square

Pattern

Working with the dpn’s and using the pinhole cast-on or the regular cast-on, cast-on 8 sts.  Divide the 8 sts evenly over your dpn’s and connect into a round.

Work the next 32 rounds as follows, or from the chart.
