This little leafy pattern is made up of off-set leaf shapes that are created by increasing between stitches and then decreasing down to the original number of sts. The stitch count does change from row to row. Because of the type of stitch used this square takes more yardage than the average square.
Materials: Approx 28 grs of Tracks; 3.25mm US#3 needles; markers and the usual notions.
Gauge: 28 sts to 4 inches in stockinet
Size: 8 inches square
Abbreviations: YO 4 times – make 4 yarn overs before working the next st – work wrong side of multiple yarn overs by purling through the back of each YO. Note – to make one YO you simply bring the yarn forward between the stitches, to make 4, wrap the needle 3 times as you bring the yarn forward, the last wrap will be finished as you knit the next stitch. K2tog – Knit 2 sts together. SSK – slip the next 2 sts knitwise (one at a time), then insert the left needle across the front of your 2 slipped sts and knit them together. P4tbl – purl the next 4 sts through the back of each loop.
