For this square; working with 3.25mm, US #3, needles cast-on 57 sts.

Knit the next two rows;

Start the pattern; pattern is a 14 st, 12 row repeat.  There needs to be one extra st to make the pattern balance – (14 x 4) +1 = 57.

• Row 1 – P1, *(K1, P1) repeat from * across the row
• Row 2 – Purl
• Row 3 – P1, *(K6, P1) repeat from * across the row
• Row 4 – P1, *(P5, K3, P6) repeat from * across the row
• Row 5 – *P1, K4, P2, K1, P2, K4) repeat from * across the row to the last st, end P1
• Row 6 – P1, *(P3, K2) twice, P4; repeat from * across the row
• Row 7 – *P1, K2, P2, K5, P2, K2 repeat from * across the row to the last st, end P1
• Row 8 – P1, *(P1, K2, P3, K1, P3, K2, P2) repeat from * across the row
• Row 9 – *P1, K1, P2, K2, P3, K2, P2, K1; repeat from * across the row to the last st, end P1
• Row 10 – P1, *P2, K4, P1, K4, P3; repeat from * across the row
• Row 11 – *P1, (K3, P2) twice, K3; repeat from * across the row to the last st, end P1
• Row 12 – Purl

Repeat the pattern 4 times across the square and 6 times up the square.  After the 6th repeat finish the square as follows;

First row – P1, *(K1, P1) repeat from * to the end of the row.  Knit 2 rows.  Bind-off in knit.
