I love the texture of this square – and Tracks shows off texture so well.  The movement is created with Front and Back Crosses that are easy to do.  It has been fun finding new patterns to try out and this one just seemed perfect for this month’s colour!

Materials: 22grs, Tracks, Acai Berry; 3.25mm, US# 3 needles; cable hook.

Gauge: 28 sts in 4 inches in stockinet

Dimensions: 8inches by 8inches

Abbreviations: YO – yarn over; P2tog – purl 2 sts together

Techniques:

Front Cross – FC – sl 1 st to cable hook, drop to front of work, purl next 2 sts from left hand needle and then K1 from cable hook.

Back Cross – BC – sl next 2 sts from left hand needle to cable hook, drop hook to back of work, K1 from left hand needle and then P2 from cable hook.

Pattern

Cast-on 55 sts.

Row 1 (WS) – K1, *P6, K5, P6, K1; repeat from * to end of row.

Row 2 – P1, *K3, BC, P5, FC, K3, P1; repeat from * to end of row.

Row 3 – K1, *P4, K9, P4, K1; repeat from * to end of row.

Row 4 – P1, *FC, K1, P1, (YO, P2tog) 4 times, K1, BC, P1; repeat from * to end of row.

Row 5 – K3, *P6, K1, P6, K5; repeat from *, end last repeat K3.

Row 6 – P3, *FC, K3, P1, K3, BC, P5; repeat from *, end last repeat P3.

Row 7 – K5, *P4, K1, P4, K9; repeat from *, end last repeat K5.

Row 8 – P1, *(YO, P2tog) twice, K1, BC, P1, FC, K1, P1, (YO, P2tog) twice; repeat from * to end of row.

Repeat rows 1 to 8 – 9 times.

Last row – K1, *P6, K5, P6, K1; repeat from * to end of row.

Bind-off in Knit.
