Vancouver Island Fibre Fest Bound

Dewmoth Shawl. waiting to be painted.
Dewmoth Shawl. waiting to be painted.

The Vancouver Island Fibre Fest is this weekend in Campbell River.  I will be demonstrating Lace Painting on Saturday and I will be teaching Twinned Knitting on Sunday – I hope to see you there.  The painting demonstration starts at 4 and lasts until the piece is painted – probably about an hour.

Dewmoth Shawl is just off the needles and ready to paint.  I have knit it with Fleece Artist Goldielocks, a lovely mohair/silk blend.  This is a worsted weight yarn so it was a quick knit!  Being mohair it feels as light as air.  When done there will be a double edging the second edge will be much smaller and beaded just to dangle over the moth edging.

IMG_0959We will knitting the In-Twinned Fingerless Mittens pattern in the class on Sunday.  This is a great small project to learn some of the more interesting effects that can be created with Twinned Knitting.

I am just about finished the longer version of the In-Twinned Mittens.  I am knitting with the Zealana Rimu Fingering – love this yarn.  It is a special request from one of the students in the Twinned Knitting class.
