A Rare Find

I love the curves of blooms!

On our walk around the Estuary yesterday morning we saw this unusual flowering plant.  It is a type of Phacelia.  It does grow on Vancouver Island, but usually only above 1500m.  These plants were right by the road on the edge of the park.

It wasn’t just a single plant – it was quite a good spread of plants – they had been there for quite a while!

The leaves are large and like the stems seem to be covered in a fine silky “hair”.  Gorgeous.

There are over 200 varieties of Phacelia.  They are all beautiful.

Happy Viewing
