I woke up this morning to hear that today has been deemed the International Day of Happiness. It was created by the UN in 2012.
I think that every day should be a Happy Day – though, given human nature, that could be a tough one! LOL!
What makes you happy?
I am pretty easy – family, friends, knitting, flowers, good food (sometimes even not so good food), where I live, things I do, things I collect.
I try to surround myself with Happy.
I may be a little naïve – but I think that we quite often make our happiness. It is how we view the world – half empty or half full. How we view the people in our world and how the world views us… I don’t put much stock into the stuff the world says that we need to have to be happy.
I put stock into the people that are in my life. Those people that are in my home, my job and those people that I meet as I go about my day.
Knitting is perhaps the activity that gives me my greatest joy and happiness. Planning the next project or playing with the new yarn – I am always creating and dreaming. When we find out what we love, what we want to do with our time – happiness isn’t generally far away!
Right now I am working on the sample for this Summer’s Painting Class. It will be a small shawl, knit with a medium weight mohair. If you are at this years Vancouver Island Fibre Fest – you can watch me paint it. I will be demoing the process with this shawl on Saturday – May 2!
I hope that you have a Happy Day!
Happy Knitting!
