Butterfly Jabot

photo_shoot_April_3_-_bowen_park_029_medium2Short-rows are used to create the wedge shapes in this curvy, ruffle jabot styled scarf.

Hommage – a fine weight mohair is held double for the main colour. La Gran or the Nashua Creative Focus Mohair (or any heavyweight mohair) would work as well.

Single crochet is used to finish the curved edges.

Materials:  60yds chunky novelty yarn – contrast (sample used African Bead Ball); 100m chunky mohair – main (sample used Hommage doubled); 6mm US #10, 24in circs; and a 6mm US #10 crochet hook to finish the ends.

Dimensions:  40in long, 4.5in wide at the back of the neck, 15in wide at the ends of the jabot and 20in around the curve of the jabot.

Gauge:  Approx 13 st to 4in in garter st.
