It is back to normal in more ways than one right now!
The weather is back to normal (didn’t realise how much I missed the grey until we had a summer of nothing but sun!) – my life is back to normal – well almost – we are still waiting for the baby! But the rhythms of life feel more normal – whatever normal is!
In celebration of the beautiful weather I am sharing the pictures of the rainy skies, windy beaches and all round grey days of the last weekend!
We walked at Haslam Creek and Piper’s Lagoon. Both days were grey and cool. Pipers Beach on Saturday was particularly spectacular, blowing wind and rain, clouds racing across the skies and just so invigorating!
It was somewhat sobering to walk through to Haslam Creek on Sunday – you can really see how dry it has been. Bracken, fern and mosses are dry and brown, needles have been dropping heavily from the trees, so totally unlike the usual wet coast undergrowth.
The last weekend of rain that is continuing into this week is more than welcome – it is truly necessary! I don’t ever remember such a dry Summer. Besides I can pull out my sweaters and wool socks and feel quite cozy!
I hadn’t stopped knitting all Summer. Aside from the patterns I shared in the last blog posting, I have published a couple of other new patterns on Ravelry, one for free and one for sale.
Daisy Chain was written to support the Period of Purple Crying and to bring awareness of Shaken Baby Syndrome.
Birds Nest Brioche is a set I started last year; Mittens and a Cowl knit in Cabled Brioche Ribbing. It was done for a class and now is a pattern.
Happy Knitting
