Early Saturday morning, before we headed up to Campbell River for the Vancouver Island Fibre Fest, we stopped to walk Sophie at Piper’s Lagoon. It was a glorious morning.
The sun was cascading across the Strait and a breeze was rippling across the tops of the new grasses as we walked down the spit, towards the Garry Oaks. Deep purple Camas Lilies and yellow wildflowers were blooming in the grasses under the Garry Oaks and in the rock depressions above the stony beaches. What a walk.
Birds were flitting across the tops of the grasses and serenading from the beach logs. The air was filled with sound and movement and the world was sparkling with colour and light. Such a way to start the day.
I hope that you enjoy it too!
Happy Walking
