Class Results – 3 beautiful beaded hats well underway!

I taught all day on Saturday – the Burka Leaf Cap.  The skills taught were all bead related, cast-on with beads, work with pre-strung beads and place beads with a crochet hook.

The Peoples Choice Gallery pictures are organized pretty much as I viewed them.  The cards describe the objects that follow.  I did miss a few cards – for that I apologise!

At lunch I managed to visit the People’s Choice Gallery, pop back some homemade soup and sandwich from the Senior’s kitchen, watch and photograph the Fashion Show and still make it back for the rest of the Class – whew!

Waiting for the show to start.

The Fashion show was a showcase of some of Sally Melville’s most popular garments, with a few of Ravelry’s popular shawls thrown in for some interest and fun.  The garments were all modelled by the customers of the LYS and in some cases by the knitters of the garments themselves.  Everyone was happy and smiling – it was great fun!

It was a busy day.  After the class I went for a wonderful meal with Beth before we went to the Museum for her talk and power point Presentation.  It was wonderful to see her at work.  I did not take any pictures of the presentation, the flash would have been a rude interruption!  And I did not take any pictures of the exhibit as that was not allowed, but I did purchase some gorgeous earrings from the Museum store – that is one dangerous place!

The pieces in the Exhibit were gorgeous – but the items that really caught my imagination were the Sointula rugs – crocheted from vintage Gill nets!  The process and the creativity to even dream up the concept – amazing!

Thrumming Class results – mittens on the Way!

Sunday was much quieter for me.  I had a half day class in the morning – thrumming – we were working on mittens – which is so much fun.  Followed by a quiet lunch, and a little quiet consultation with the powers that be – I am pretty sure that I will be back next year!

Donna's beaded Christmas socks - beads placed with a crochet hook. Donna brought these to show me on Sunday. The socks are her pattern with the beads placed from a chart she had discovered - too cool!

Then I drove home with Sandra – all in all – a very pleasurable weekend!

Happy Viewing
