A Busy Bird Kind of Day at Louden Park

Swooping through the trees!

It all started with an Eagle swooping low overhead as we got to the beach and just continued from there.

There were a trio of Heron’s playing tag at Louden Park yesterday morning!  Or at least that is what it looked like!

A great deal of water fowl activity on the lake.

Over the water and up into the trees!

They were perched on branches in the park on a neighbours dock.  As one would swoop out of its perch another would also take off and change locations.  They did this for a good half hour.

I was dizzy trying to watch and capture their antics!

Below them on Long Lake there was a lot of other kinds of activity.  There were water fowl of all shapes and sizes; Common Mergansers, Hooded Mergansers, Cormorants, Mallards and Buffleheads.

Some of the Mergansers got “into it” over a fish dinner.  Actually we saw the same kind of moving chase over the water a few times!

It was a very active morning at Long Lake!

Happy Viewing
