  1. Oh, Lynette, I’m so happy for you. I was waiting all weekend for the results, you must be really excited.

Hope you win, we’re all rooting for you.

    Love, Wendy-Lynne

  2. Congratulations! It’s a gorgeous design, and it’s lovely to know that a wider world is going to know about your talents, beyond those of us happy to have you right there in our favourite LYS. Can’t wait to buy my copy of Vogue Knitting and get you to autograph it.

  3. Congratulations Lynette! I’m so happy for you – the pieces look stunning. What a combination of simplicity and elegance. Well done!

  4. I saw this beautiful kimono at the Vogue Knitting Expo a nd I’d love to make it, although I’m not sure that I’d be able to paint those beautiful roses. Is the pattern available for purchase?

    1. Thank-you so much for the comments and I am glad that you like the garment! You will be able to make the wrap and the roses are simply swirls of colour – giving the impression of the roses!

The Victorian Falls Wrap and Sheath are going to be published in a future issue of Vogue Knitting, most likely this fall. It was 1st runner up in the Magic of Mohair Design Competition!

      1. Thank you for this good news. I think the piece is wonderful and I’m glad you placed as well as you did. Frankly, if I had been a judge it would have come in first. I’ll be looking for the Vogue issue with the instructions. In the meantime, I’m starting my hunt for some luscious mohair. How much did you use, i.e., how much should I buy when I find some appropriate yarn.

        1. Hi Operagail!

Thank-you for the judgement! I was very happy with the placement though – publishing was my goal!

If you are looking for yarn I used Undyed Maidenhair by Handmaiden for the lace edgings – you would need 850 yds if you were to knit both peices. I think that Art Yarns Silk Rhapsody is comparable, but I would have to check yardage/weight. The stockinet body was knit with Fleece Artist Montague, 70 mohair, 30 silk, also undyed, a new yarn that they are looking at – you would need 1400 yds. Subsitutes could be Fleece Artist Baby Kid, I thought about Rowans’ Kid Silk Aura, but it might be a bit heavy, Classic Elite’s Giselle looks promising as well.

          Hope that this helps
          Happy Hunting
