Apologies, Apologies!

I am so sorry for the long delay between posts!

It has been a crazy busy start to this year and doesn’t look like it will let up until the end of this month.  I have two deadlines to get through; the Retreat and one other.  Please be patient as my life will reset back to normal then!

Last year was incredible and this year is shaping up to be even better!  As of the beginning of the year I am now the Creative Director of the Buffalo Wool Co.  Sounds grand doesn’t it!  It really means that I keep on doing what I have been doing – but I have a title to go with it!

I went a little crazy on projects for the Retreat – it now stands at 3 hat options and a pair of fingerless mittens.  I have been totally consumed with the combinations and variations on these techniques!  To add to it all – the latest Vogue Knitting – more than half of the patterns are worked in Mosaic Stitch.  The Retreat is styling this year!

I am working on those patterns this week and into next – the retreat is only two and half weeks away!

Promises and teasers - of the Spring ahead.

Last night I left my knitting at work – by accident – but I sometimes wonder if it really was “accidental”  – gave me time to work on this post!

I am still walking every weekend and have so many pictures that I now don’t know where to start!

Foggy Views
Foggy Views

I have had to start deleting and editing and moving my pictures – another time grabber – but I have completely filled up the memory on my computer!  In order to download and edit I need room!

Last Sunday we walked at Morden Colliery Park.  Soft rain and foggy views – but there were snowdrops coming up through the leaves and other promises of Spring – I do hope we don’t get heavy snow or a hard freeze – that will kill all of the small bits of green!

Happy Knitting

This afternoon we – Emily and I – will head out to Kiwi Cove Lodge to start this year’s Retreat – Brioche and Lace.

This will be my and Mad About Ewe’s Fourteenth retreat together.  Over the years, we have learned about lace – several times;  Socks, once or twice;  Beads – only once – I’ll have to work on that!  Entrelac; Moebius;  and the list goes on.  We learn on various projects and try out different yarns and share an amazing amount of information.

Not all of the Retreat is knitting related.  In fact knitting in only the vehicle that brings the Retreaters together.  We share time; we learn about each other; and we learn about joy each time we get together.

For some the Retreat started yesterday – they booked a room a day early to get together for even more time to visit!

This sharing is the best and most amazing aspect of our craft – the joy we take in our craft and the friendships that spring from our craft!

Happy Retreating
