On our walk around the Estuary yesterday morning we saw this unusual flowering plant. It is a type of Phacelia. It does grow on Vancouver Island, but usually only above 1500m. These plants were right by the road on the edge of the park.
It wasn’t just a single plant – it was quite a good spread of plants – they had been there for quite a while!
The leaves are large and like the stems seem to be covered in a fine silky “hair”. Gorgeous.
There are over 200 varieties of Phacelia. They are all beautiful.
