On Sunday we went for a walk around the Nanaimo River Regional Park. The Nanaimo River was higher than I had ever seen it and the sound of the River was amazing! There was a small flock of Merganser ducks on the side channel and even the dry wash was running high with water. The combination of melting and snow and heavy rain of the days before had added up to a very impressive display of water, sound and fury! Incredible!
I love this time of the year. The buds are bursting open and flowers are appearing.
The snowdrops and crocuses in the yard are opening and the tulip and daffodil bulbs that my husband and I planted last fall are coming up – except for the ones that Sophie dug up over the Winter! Life is so energetic right now!
Over by Long Lake there is this one piece of grass that has been naturalized with loads of crocuses – I am trying to convince my husband that this technique would greatly improve our front yard!
Happy Spring
