A feminine slouchy with a dramatic beaded lace start.

This sample uses small Leaf shaped glass beads that are pre-strung and are worked into the fringe but any fancy bead would work equally well for the fringe. For example – size 5/0 triangular beads or size 6.0 round beads are good options. Teardrop crystals would be beautiful as well. The beads in the body of the hat are placed with a crochet hook as the cap is knit.

Materials: 280 yds 4-ply fingering (#1) yarn – Samples were knit with BWC Tracks and ; 3.0mm, # 2.5 US, 16 inch circs and dpn’s; 0.6mm crochet hook for bead placement; 36 fancy beads for fringe; 150 size 8/0 beads.

Size: One size – ladies medium

Sizing Options: the lace band is quite stretchy and sizes up or down easily.  If the head you are knitting for is small – knit the band on a smaller needle size.

Gauge: 30 sts to 4 inches in Stockinet
