Straight off an Old West Poster – this Buffalo Cap is a fun accessory that will carry you back in time and place.

Suitable for anyone in your life this cap is worked in the round and the face details of the buffalo are added with duplicate st after the knitting is complete.

Materials:  160 – 240 yds, DK weight yarn, samples used Buffalo Skies (large size – used approx 120 yds green, 80 yds red and 40 yards brown:  Spirit Life – green, Trade Bead – red, and Natural; the details were duplicate stitched with Tracks, undyed; 3.75mm US#5, 16 inch circular needles for the ribbing:  4.0mm US#6, 16 inch circulars and dpn’s for the body and crown: and stitch markers to mark pattern repeats and the beginning of the round.

Gauge:  22 stitches in 4 inches using the 4mm needles, or the needle size necessary to get the gauge.

Sizes:  Baby (6 months to a year) – 17 ins, Child – 18 ins, Adult S/M – 20 ins and M/L – 22 ins.

Notes on Sizing – the M/L size is knit for a man, but makes a great slouchy cap for a woman.
