Knit with traditional Twined knitting technique, knit in the round.
Technique: Twined knitting is a type of texture and colour work knitting from the Scandinavian area of the world. It creates a thermal layer on the inside of the project through the constant twisting of 2 strands of yarn.
Great for using up 4-ply yarns.
Gauge: 29 sts to 4in in technique with 3.25mm needles.
Sizing: 2 sizes – small, 16in around approx 6 – 12 month – Medium, 18.5in around approx 12 to 24 month.
The size range could be personalized a little more with needle choice and yarn choices. Try knitting with a DK instead of the 4-ply for an adult sized cap.
Materials: 3.25mm, 16in circ and dpn’s; 50grs each of 2 colours of 4-ply yarn; and markers for the beginning of the round, the heart motif pattern repeats, and crown shaping. Sample shown is size small/medium and worked with Boreale wool from St Denis.
