4173947435_803360162f_zA felted Circular bag! With an easy garter stitch wedge pattern.   There are two sizes of  the basic bag with photo tutorials on the techniques used to create the shaping and finishing.

Basic Bag size is altered by the yarn choice and needle size to change the size of the bag. The pattern itself does not change it is always the same amount of stitches. Different finishes are offered for the flap.

Bag front and back are knit circles, created with short-row wedges. Bag is knit entirely in garter stitch and finished with attached I-cord or ruffles.4435717791_7e0bbfd188_z

Bonus Bag – there is a pattern and instructions for a miniature shibori felted version of this bag.  Photo tutorial is also included for the shibori techniques.  The bonus bag is also beaded.

Materials: Large Bag – Worsted yarn, 100gms Kureyon, 200gms Classic wool.  6.5mm needles, straights or circulars and 6.5mm dpns.

Gauge: approx. 14 sts to 4in in garter st.

4436491330_203e55d30a_zSmall Bag – 4-ply yarn, 125grs Mini Mochi (50grs without the ruffle), 100grs Drops Alpaca, 4mm needles, straights or circulars (if finishing the bag with a ruffle you will need 32in and 60in circs) and 4mm dpn’s.

Gauge: approx. 22 sts to 4in in garter st.

Dimensions:

Large bag, before felting – 16in round, strap 4.25in wide and 72 in long.  After felting – 13in round, strap 3in wide and 54in long.

Small bag, before felting – 13in round, strap 3.25in wide and 56in long, ruffle 2.5in deep.  After felting – 9.25in round, strap 2in wide and 38in long, ruffle, 1.5in deep.
