There is a small grove, a circle of Japanese Cherry trees at the bottom of Departure Bay hill. There is a small commemorative stone in the center of the grove. The trees are in full bloom! What a beautiful location to honour a memory.
I watch for the blooming of these trees every year. Last year the blooms were sparse and had been driven down by hard rain. This year, this year, the trees are stunning.
Last night on the way home from work I had my husband stop so that I could take pictures to share the beauty.
I hope that you enjoy.

Hi Lynette I forgot to mention to you yesterday that the last few blogs aren’t coming through properly to me. I’m hoping it shows in this reply what I see at my end. Good to see you. Cheers, Sue

Hi Sue,
Thanks for letting me know! No one else has commented along that line. I wonder if anyone else is having problems!?

So very beautiful! These blossoms always remind me of why we fell in love with Vancouver when my husband was transferred here many years ago.
They are a wonderful grace note every Spring. Glad that they brought back memories!
