It rained this weekend. It wasn’t supposed to. It was supposed to be dry, maybe even some sun – but this is the Wet Coast – weather is subject to change without notice!
We went for several walks, Neck Point, Lost Lake, Departure Bay Beach and Beach Estates Park. Snowdrops were the common theme.
I had never been to Beach Estates Park so early in the year. There was not as much vegetation so I was able to get some shots that I wouldn’t normally be able to get. They are working on replacing the wooden decking with new metal decked paths and stairs; some pieces are already done and some are still under construction.
This is a narrow walk. You have to move to the side when others approach, and it is easy to make conversation and compare notes on the day and the walk as you pass. There were many out enjoying the walk yesterday, a couple of young families with dogs, children and toy cars.
Going down is great, coming back up is a bit of a workout. Sophie as always got three times the walk we did as she darted from side to side along the path and through the stream. She stopped to check out holes and to dig the occasional hole. We all had a great walk.
It really was Family day yesterday. Cousins popped by for a visit, they were passing through town, we had not seen each other for almost a year. It was a good visit. Both children made it home for dinner and a great deal of conversation ensued. Did you know that yurts could come with spiral staircases and lofts!
As a result of all this going on, not much knitting was accomplished. But what did get knit is spectacular! A little personal bias is showing here…..LOL!
Bronze Roses will be finished this evening. I am taking it to work today to look for the perfect buttons to finish it off with. I can hardly wait to get it done.
I hope that your weekend went well.
Happy Knitting
